Sometimes when we are children we don’t realize that our parents actually know anything. In fact – it is sometimes much later that it dawns on us as adults that our Moms and Dads were quite extraordinary people and made sure we attended all the proper occasions in our childhood. In 1964, my Dad took all of five of us to Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood for the world premiere of Mary Poppins. Evidently my dad was friends with film’s makeup artist Pat McNally and was able to score our family tickets to the film’s premiere. I remember the event very well, and how my Mom got us all dressed up.
Now 50 years later; I am employed by the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts and it is ironic how things are connected. I am very excited to see the new movie come out in December called, “Saving Mr. Banks” and it will be a huge success. Perhaps I will take my parents who are now in their 80’s to see that film.
