Jean Grimsley, a wonderful lady and fantastic Grandmother

My Mother-in-Law passed away yesterday at the age of 88 in Northern California.  She loved to read magazines, and followed the latest celebrity gossip.  She had five kids, and four of them are pictured above in the old photograph from 1992.   I was married to her youngest son, Jeff and he is seen above on the far left.  Jean was a wonderful woman and loved her family and dotted on her grandkids, which are my two grown sons. Her favorite things were to bake, celebrate holidays and make a big family dinner.  Jean made incredible cookies, cakes and pies; and would bake for hours before we would come with the kids to visit.

When I first married into the family in 1981, I was intrigued with great sense of decorating.  She had three bathrooms at her home in Las Vegas, and each of them had a different sense of decor.  There was the Guest bathroom with a cowboy theme, and rustic western items in the room. She always figured out to make the most of her what she already had. She never used the word grocery store; rather she would say, “I am going to the market..” Grandma Jean, was cleaver, fun and I will miss her.  I was no longer in the family – as her daughter in law, but she would always say to me – You will always be my daughter in law.

Rest in peace, Grandma Jean, we will miss you much….
