Trying something…. new, a “Bed and Breakfast” on Kauai

Just about two weeks ago, my husband and I went to Kauai for vacation. We tried something that we never have tried before? We spent 3 days/2 nights at a Bed & Breakfast in Poipu (before continuing on to Princeville area) and really enjoyed ourselves. Our hosts were Dan and Lynette originally from California but now living and running a B & B on the beautiful garden island of Kauai. We were truly Guests, and not consider “customers or patrons”, although we were staying at their Home, we reserved the Honeymoon cottage which is a separate structure from their principal home.  Each morning they made us a delicious breakfast with homemade banana pancakes and wonderful fruit and Lattes. We felt spoiled and definitely very special.

The five reasons to stay at a “Bed & Breakfast”:

  • Superior Customer Service
  • You gain knowledge of the city or area from your Host & Hostess, they will give you insider tips for navigating the best golf courses, private beaches, etc..
  • Meet other Travelers and socialize
  • More space and privacy
  • Breakfast is included

Sometimes the costs are also more economical and you can connect with your Hosts via the internet before your trip. The service we used was Air B & B, which does all of the leg work.

We had a private entrance into our own bungalow and a separate house key.

Seen above is an outdoor Shower, to get all of the “sand” off before going into the house or pool.

We even had our own private pool while at the B & B….so relaxing.
