A Look Back – 1975 Fashion

The 1970’s was a decade packed full of new fashion trends, therefore it is frequently revisted for a fashion inspiration. Really….? Below is a photo of my family from a cousin’s wedding.  My Mom and Dad are on the far left side, Dad is wearing a white leisure suit and my Mom is wearing her Diane Von Furstenberg dress which was a classic for any occasion. The Diane Von Furstenberg dresses were cut from silky stretch jersey. The dress was iconic, but now on to my Dad’s suit……Leisure suits for men became commonplace, including bell bottom pants and hip huggers. I would have to say that leisure suits must be part of the bad fads and perhaps long term embarrassment.  At least my Dad skipped the platform shoes that were popular in the 1970’s.
